It has been decided that all stalls and stores in Lokkhipur city will have to be closed during prayer times. The local mayor Al-Hajj Abu Taher has instructed Hindu stores to remain closed alongside those belonging to Muslims. Master Taher supports Awami League and is a respected freedom fighter. The announcement was made to businessman by the local council this past Wednesday. This announcement was welcomed by members of the Lokkhipur society at all levels. It is no surprise that the whole population of Lokkhipur gave their consent over the decision for they are lovers of Islam, and Islam does not deal with oppression or coercion!

Hindu brothers while it may be acceptable that you do not perform namaaz (Islamic prayers), it is not feasible to allow you to conduct business during prayer times. If you do not like it why don’t you go back to India, the nation of your fathers! Did you think that the moon is shining on your side just because the Awami League is in power now? Did the Awami League call you back once the country gained independence? No they did not.

You came here by yourself. Did the freedom fighters give their lives so that “Malus” may enjoy similar rights? Can you give me even a shred of proof that a Muslim ever staked his life, in the interest of establishing same rights for a non-Muslim?

In Rangpur, Hindus have been warned to leave the country through leaflets and letters from anonymous sources. Lokkhipur has now seen a mini Shariyah law being passed. When the public themselves are angling for Shariyah why wait any longer? It is not that there is another powerful secular force in Bangladesh at the moment. Those who were accused of being secular by Islamists, they actually practice a brand pan-Islamism in truth. Muslims claim that there was a whole sect amongst them, who used to always keep themselves separate from Hindu aboriginals in the mountains. And they recognise themselves as ‘Bengali Muslims’.

Due to their inclination of branding themselves as ‘Bengali Muslims’ and not ‘Pakistani’ or ‘Arab’ Muslims, this group had a falling out with Islamists in Pakistan, right after the partition in ’47. Despite the fact that these forces have now branched out as as right wing, left wing etc. their roots are still the same. Which is why if you stumble across a left-wing pioneer told to keep his shops closed during namaaz, he in turn will tell you how to torment Muslims by sacrificing cows in India.

So now I really want Shariyah to be established in this country as soon as possible. The people of our country will not be able to understand the true benefits of Islam if that does not happen. For these people need to be taught a sever lesson. 9 months under the grip of Shoronarthi Shibirs and their ‘Pakistan is a country of Muslims’ ideal was not enough. 9 years would have possible taught them a thing or two. Once Shariyah laws come into effect I will not utter their names ever again…
